Sculptra® Aesthetic

Sculptra Aesthetic is made from poly-L-lactic acid and is an injectable filler designed to counteract the aging process that leads to collagen depletion and loss of structural integrity. By gradually stimulating collagen production, Sculptra is an excellent treatment for fine lines, facial wrinkles and contour deficiencies. At Houston’s Integrated Aesthetics, Dr. Cho and Dr. Chiang help many patients looking for long-lasting skin rejuvenating solutions to achieve their aesthetic goals by offering Sculptra treatments.

About Sculptra Aesthetic

Patients looking for long-lasting results in facial contouring, facial augmentation or wrinkle correction, you are a good candidate for Sculptra. Certain skin issues that Sculptra is good for treating include:

  • Lost facial volume around the eyes and cheeks
  • Facial depressions or contour deficiencies
  • Smile lines
  • Marionette lines
  • Chin wrinkles

Sculptra is different from other injectables because it targets the underlying causes of aging by working deep within the dermis, reinforcing your skin’s structure over a period of time. The results can last up to two years, and it has been shown to provide up to 80 percent improvement in treated areas.

You would not be a good candidate for this type of treatment if you have experienced any of the following:

  • Currently have a skin infection
  • Previous allergic reaction to any ingredient in Sculptra
  • History of keloid formation or hypertonic scarring

Before the injection, Dr. Cho or Dr. Chiang will clean your face with an antiseptic. Sculptra will be carefully injected with a needle into the pre-determined site. Gentle massaging motions will promote smooth and even results, and in less than an hour your doctor will have completed the treatment. After the injection, Sculptra work to stimulate collagen production with final results becoming visible after a series of 2 to 4 sessions over a 3 to 6 week period.

Restylane is made with hyaluronic acid, a naturally-occurring body compound. This injected gel cushions your skin, boosting facial volume over time and smoothing wrinkles. Treatment can improve prominent facial lines around the nose and mouth.

The natural hyaluronic acid in your body slowly begins to decrease as you age. With Restylane, we restore the missing hyaluronic acid, restoring facial volume and correcting wrinkles. Women and men seeking non-surgical wrinkle treatment can benefit from Restylane treatment.

About Restylane Injections

Restylane can treat:

  • Smile lines
  • Thin lips (through lip augmentation)
  • Forehead wrinkles
  • Nasolabial folds
  • Specific wrinkles around the mouth and nose

Your Restylane Treatment

The Restylane procedure is typically performed in 10 to 30 minutes. You will be able to return to your normal activities right away when treatment is finished.

Your initial consultation with Dr. Cho or Dr. Chiang will allow you to express your goals for the procedure. Your doctor will discuss your treatment plan, mark locations, and clean your skin.

Restylane is injected in the marked locations just beneath the skin. The hyaluronic acid fills in the space under your skin, binding to water and increasing facial volume.

Juvederm® Injectable Gel

Juvederm® is a biodegradable, long-lasting injectable cosmetic filler made by Allergan, which contains smooth hyaluronic acid gel. Hyaluronic acid, found naturally in the body, delivers nutrients to the skin, protects skin cells, and hydrates the skin.

Without hyaluronic acid, the skin loses structure and volume, and often becomes wrinkled. Juvederm® treatment actually boosts the natural function of hyaluronic acid in your facial skin.

Integrated Aesthetics offer Juvederm for patients who desire a non-invasive wrinkle reduction.

About Juvederm Injectable Gel

Individuals who use Juvederm® are displeased with the visual effects of aging on their skin. They suffer from fine lines and wrinkles, as well as loss of volume in the lips, cheeks, and around the eyes. Juvederm® is FDA approved for treatment of facial wrinkles and folds, and may be recommended for the following indications:

  • Nasolabial folds
  • Marionette lines
  • Moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds
  • Sunken cheeks or temples
  • Lip augmentation, fine lip lines
  • Hollow tear trough

A Juvederm® procedure takes place in an office setting and requires between 15 to 30 minutes of your time. First, the skin surface is cleaned with antiseptic to ensure a hygienic procedure. Next, your plastic surgeon will carefully select and mark the injection sites. Juvederm® is then injected into the sites, below the dermis.

Juvederm comes in different formulas for different injection depths — Ultra, and Ultra Plus — and the depth at which the product is injected depends on your treatment plan. Finally, your surgeon will briefly massage the area to ensure that the product is evenly distributed.

Lidocaine or a similar topical anesthetic may be used to diminish pain during the procedure. Ice may also be applied to reduce swelling.

Radiesse® is an injectable treatment, like Botox® and Juvederm®, that is used for cosmetic purposes. Unlike other fillers, Radiesse® lasts longer and is composed of calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA) microspheres that are suspended in a water-based gel.

In the beginning, the water-based gel is the substance that fills the wrinkles or folds treated. Upon injection, these microspheres begin to stimulate collagen growth so that, after time, a connective tissue forms around the microspheres, acting as the durable filler.

Radiesse® is often preferred by aestheticians and plastic surgeons because it is easy to use and is biocompatible, meaning that it isn’t harmful to the body.

About Radiesse® Dermal Filler

You may be a candidate for Radiesse® if you suffer from moderate to severe facial wrinkles and nasolabial folds. There are many off-label uses for Radiesse® including, but not limited to, the following:

  • Marionette lines
  • Nasolabial folds
  • Depressed scars
  • Sunken cheeks

Virtually any facial wrinkle is treatable with Radiesse®. First, your plastic surgeon will cleanse your face and apply a topical lidocaine or ice in order to numb the area. After marking the injection points, he will inject Radiesse® with a fine needle, reaching the subdermal plane, or deep dermis. Injection techniques include fanning, linear threading or crosshatching. The site is then massaged in order to promote smoothness. Radiesse® begins to work immediately, correcting facial lines and wrinkles, and rejuvenating the appearance and texture of the skin.
